Teaspoon Trends: Paper Pretty

Inspired by my obsession of all things paper, I thought I would share with you my love of this most fabulous material. At Teaspoon, we are increasingly using paper, in all its forms, to style our events and we love it! It’s delicate, it’s vibrant and most of all it is incredibly versatile.  You can easily print in any colour and/or apply any design. Whether you’re the DIY bride looking to make something simple and original on a budget or want to splash some cash on beautifully crafted origami garlands, paper is a lovely touch to any event.  We have listed five of our favourite paper pretty trends.

Paper aeroplanes: If you are having a travel themed wedding an absolute must-have. All you need is an airplane shaped hole punch, LOTS of paper of your choosing and time for some punching and a natter with your bridal party. These are also available online if you are short on time.

Paper cranes:  Japanese legend says that anyone who folds 1000 paper cranes will be granted eternal good luck. We love the symbolism behind this ritual but if you’re not the patient nifty paper-folding type paper cranes can easily be purchased and come in all colours and sizes. Prices range from £3-£5 for favours, up to £100-£150 for garlands.

Paper flower bouquet: these make a great alternative, they are fun, easy to care for and  will never wilt and die. Origami flowers are beautiful, come in a variety of forms, colours and patterns, have it made or  if you have the incline and the knack, why not try it yourself?

flower garlandPaper garlands: there is no limit to what can be achieved with paper garlands, even with the smallest of budgets and  the simplest designs you can add a lovely decorative touch to your venue.

paper-parasolsPaper parasols: we will be working with these for one of our weddings this year and we are very excited. Parasols are delicate and ornate and can be used as props for the bride and bridesmaids or as key design elements in your venue.
